Exam CLF-C02

AWS Cloud Practitioner practice questions

Exam-style questions across all four CLF-C02 domains, in the weightings the real paper uses. Every option is explained, including the three you did not pick.

The AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner exam (CLF-C02) tests whether you understand the AWS cloud well enough to talk about it accurately: what the services are for, where your responsibility ends and AWS's begins, how the bill is put together, and which governance and support tools exist. It is the entry-level certification, so it assumes no hands-on background, but it does assume you can read a three-line scenario, notice that the work in it must never be interrupted, and rule out the cheap answer.

  • Questions written as scenarios, the way CLF-C02 actually asks
  • The four domains in the exam's own proportions, not an even split
  • Every wrong option explained, so you learn why you nearly picked it

An ExamRoad question about what AWS manages on Amazon RDS, answered correctly, with the explanation shown underneath.

A question from the bank, graded, with the trap that catches most candidates.

What you get

Everything you need for AWS Cloud Practitioner, in one place

Practice, explanations, a timed paper and a plan. Free to start, and it remembers where you left off.

Every wrong option explained

Most banks tell you the answer was C. This one tells you why you picked B, which is where the marks actually leak.

Timed exam simulator

Sit a full paper under the clock with explanations hidden until you submit, then read a breakdown by topic.

Flashcards that space themselves

Cards you find hard come back sooner. Cards you know disappear for weeks, so revision time goes where it is needed.

A plan built to your exam date

Tell it when you sit, and the material is split across the days you have left, weighted to what you keep getting wrong.

Weak areas found for you

Mastery is tracked per concept from your answers, so you are sent back to the topics costing you marks, not the ones you enjoy.

Works in twenty minutes

On a phone, in a queue, between lectures. Tap an answer, read why it was wrong, move on. Your progress follows you.

How it works

Four steps, then repeat until it is automatic

  1. 1

    Tell us your exam date

AWS Cloud Practitioner, your level and the day you sit it. The plan fits the days you actually have.

  2. 2

    Answer exam-style questions

Scenarios in the format the paper uses, drawn in the weightings the awarding body publishes.

  3. 3

    Read why you were wrong

Not just the key. The reason your option was tempting, and the trap the question was built on.

  4. 4

    Drill your weak areas

Mastery is tracked per concept, so you are sent back to what is costing you marks.

A real question

This is what you actually get

Not a marketing mock-up. This item is pulled live from the AWS Cloud Practitioner bank, with everything a member sees: why the answer is right, why each of the other three is wrong, and the trap the examiner set.

Security and Compliance · The Shared Responsibility Model

A company runs an application on EC2 instances. A security audit finds the guest operating system is missing several months of patches. Under the shared responsibility model, who was responsible for applying them?

  • AAWS, because AWS operates the underlying infrastructureAWS secures the infrastructure the instance runs on, not the operating system inside it.
  • BThe customer, because the guest operating system is their responsibility on EC2
  • CShared equally between AWS and the customerThe model divides responsibilities rather than sharing individual tasks; guest OS patching sits entirely with the customer.
  • DThe Availability Zone operatorAn Availability Zone is a set of data centres, not a party with security responsibilities of its own.

EC2 is an infrastructure service, so the customer manages everything from the guest operating system upwards, including its patches. AWS is responsible for the hypervisor and the physical infrastructure beneath it.

Exam trap

The split moves with the service. Patching is yours on EC2 and AWS's on a managed database service such as RDS.

The screen the whole product rests on. Get one wrong and you are told why the option you picked was tempting, what trap the question was built on, and why each of the other three fails.

Sit a timed paper the way the real one runs: nothing explained until you submit, then a breakdown by domain showing where the marks went.

Built for the twenty minutes between other things

Most revision happens on a phone, in a queue, on a train. Every mode works there: tap an answer, read why it was wrong, move on. Your progress and your plan follow you between devices.

CLF-C02 is a scenario paper more than a vocabulary test. Much of it describes a situation and expects a service or a responsibility back, so the useful skill is not reciting what Lambda is but recognising, from a description of short work triggered by an upload, that the answer cannot be an instance sitting idle all day.

Two rules decide a surprising number of questions. The shared responsibility split moves with the service, so patching the operating system is yours on EC2 and AWS's on RDS. And an explicit deny in IAM beats any allow, however the allow got there. Papers build elaborate scenarios on top of both.

The rest of the marks go to reading carefully. Questions ask for the lowest support plan that qualifies, or the minimum architecture that survives losing a data centre, and then offer an option that works but overshoots. Practising against items written the same way is the point of this bank.

What the exam covers

  • Cloud Concepts24%

The six benefits, deployment and service models, Regions and Availability Zones, and the Well-Architected Framework pillars.

  • Security and Compliance30%

The shared responsibility model, IAM users, groups, roles and policy evaluation, the root user, encryption, and the security services examiners keep pairing off.

  • Cloud Technology and Services34%

Compute, storage, database and networking services, chosen from a scenario that names none of them, plus the ways you reach AWS.

  • Billing, Pricing and Support12%

EC2 purchasing options, the billing tools, Organizations and consolidated billing, Trusted Advisor and the four support plans.

Questions people ask before starting

No. CLF-C02 is the entry-level certification and assumes no hands-on background. The questions here start from what each service is for, then move to the scenarios the exam actually asks, where a service is described but never named.
